We had Devyn’s birthday party today with her friends to celebrate her 5th birthday coming up this Sunday. While taking a group photo, I managed to grab this short video of the girls.

Devyn had her birthday party for her friends today. It’s crazy having 6 other 5 year old girls run around the house, but I managed to pin them down for a quick group photo and a short video.

There are 6 other proud dads out there tonight.

For the record, I’m stronger than all of those other dads. :-)

Devyn was in a children’s acting class earlier this year, or was it late last year? Can’t remember. Maybe it was both. Either way, this is the video that Chris shot of the play that the children wrote called “The Sleepless Kingdom”.

Cub World 2008

This is Nathan’s second year in Cub Scouts and my second year as the leader of his Den. Believe me, I’m no model Den Mother. I barely seem to be able to get anything done and I put together the content for the den meeting hours before the meeting. Hardly a role model for being prepared.

Anyway, Nathan really enjoys cub scouts and being around his friends, but what he really loves about cub scouts is Cub World. It’s hard to blame him really. BB Guns. Archery. Slingshots. Water slides. What’s not to like?

For me, it’s different, but every time I think about not being the leader for next year, I watch this video and I remind myself how much this means to Nathan and that this is for him. Not for me.
